The EcoBlock is a great alternative for people who want a more natural look than the typical plastic compost bins. Our rustic, natural wood EcoBloc Compost Bin is made from eco-friendly, FSC Certified Canadian Spruce, that has been torrefied. This means the wood is treated by subjecting it to high heat at near atmospheric pressure in the absense of oxygen. This causes the wood to have a very low uptake of moisture while in use and biological degradation is drastically slowed, resulting in a natural preservation without chemical treatment!
With a capacity of 87 gallons, it is perfect for smaller gardens. It has as easy-to-handle 2-part lid, also made of wood. The lid is much heavier than the plastic lids which prevents it from blowing away. No more replacing lost lids!
