This bird home is finished with a unique antiquing process utilizing multiple layers of hand-blended stains and hand-sanding, conveying a relaxed feeling of warm comfort for your yard or garden. This birdhouse is a blend of beautiful artistry and full functionality. Created by an artist and a woodworker, the piece is hand painted and sturdily handcrafted using solid wood construction. The soulful colors and designs are created using non-toxic water-based stains, paints, and finishes. For the bird's comfort, this house features drainage holes to allow water to escape. The house also includes ventilation openings under the roof and a convenient side door for cleaning. This piece is finished with three coats of water-based exterior polyurethane to withstand year-round outdoor use. Finally, the bird home and is signed and dated by the artist. As these are handcrafted items, each piece will vary somewhat in the pattern of the details and in the characteristics of the wood. Care: Like all wooden outdoor furnishings that are exposed to the elements, it should be expected that the wood will shrink and expand slightly and weather naturally. If you wish to preserve the original look of your birdhouse, an occasional coating of exterior polyurethane is recommended, depending on exposure. Care and hanging tips are provided with your birdhouse.
